the warm summer night, came with the warm summer rain
shepherding the firefly’s gently up from the salt marshes
twinkling
they all twinkled magically
into the shelter of the trees and bushes

the soft rain on the leaves sounded like light applause
what a beautiful night show
for those
who
were so lucky
to see!
