Nor’easter

So I hear a Nor’easter is coming to town!

How I wish I were back in Westbrook, in the old little sea shanty in my magical salt marshes. Everything must be barren and grey by now. No brilliant autumn leaves, no pinks of spring, just the grey and cold and now the snow. How beautiful the grey snow storm clouds must be. How electric the air must be with negative ions.

I wonder where my bunnies and Westbrook Willie, our background groundhog are. I’m sure they are warm and toasty in there dens, waiting for spring to arrive in the next 3 weeks or so.

Is it me, or has it been a long winter. It’s been cold for so long, even here in the Southern Californian desert town of Morongo Valley.

The fireplaces must be tooting smoke signals. The smells of bacon chowders, stews, baked beans and hot dogs everywhere . People still using Horse Hill Road and coming home to good old Connecticut. Settling in at home for a wonderful magical Sunday night. Here’s to you all and a magical wish: I hope work is canceled with pay; I hope school is canceled and you have enough soft snow to use your sleds, skis and snowboards! I also wish that you are all safe and warm and that the power stays on.
