billowing up fast
people, animals, and insects scurrying around as not to be last
chilly still air
and then hard cracks of thunder
cold light rain
a lightning bolt
and a very close blasting cap of dynamite wonder
it’s incredible this natural world we deny living in
going about our lives as if she didn’t matter

soothing earth with her sweet lullaby
tending her garden with so many, dew drops
covering everything and everyone with her kindness
making squash blossoms bloom
trumpeting their gratitude
father sun shines making her sparkle
each drop a tiny prism of light

illuminating everything
how does mother earth balance things so equally?
the soft wind, the birds calls, the harmony of nature?
there is so much here
people before us, I’m sure loved this place

I LOVE our backyard…
……..there are many trees in the salt marshes
pines, maples, and other trees covered with tarzan vines
the line between here and there
present and past
it filters thru time from now, to yesterday in a
very few feet
the gigan…tuous maple tree holds her arms out to shelter
us from the morning light
